• Breast milk increases the health outcomes for premature and medically-ill infants by supporting growth, nutrition, and the prevention of infections and illnesses.

• When a mother’s own milk is not available, pasteurized donor human milk provided by a nonprofit milk bank improves an infant's chance to thrive.

• The supply of safe, pasteurized donor human milk currently does not meet the growing demand.
